James Lee Woods, 59, of Clanton, passed away on March 23 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

He was born in Walker County on Sept. 18, 1956, the son of the late Fayett William Woods and the late Zola Mae Madison Woods.

He was a logger.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Jones of Clanton; daughter, Amy Martin of Calera; sons, Jeffrey Woods (Megan) of Clanton, Joshua Woods (Crystal) of Clanton and Stevie Woods of Clanton; brothers, Horace Woods of Jemison and Roy Woods of Chelsea; sisters, Barbara Sue Dawson of Clanton, Evalou Smith of Thorsby, Shirley Smith of Thorsby and Bill Dawson of Jemison.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fayett William Woods and Zola Mae Woods; wife, Donna McDaniel; sisters, Marie Brasher, Poly Woods and Ann Seals; brothers, John Woods, Bunk Woods and Bass Woods.

Funeral services will be held on March 26 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with the Bro. Chris Hill officiating.

The family received friends on March 25 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the New Hope Community Cemetery in Jemison.
