Anna Louise Jenkins Bryars

Funeral services for Anna Louise Jenkins Bryars, 82, of Montgomery, formerly of Andalusia will be held on March 5, at 11 a.m., at the Chapel of Keahey Funeral Home in Andalusia.

The Rev. Ken Daniel will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery in Andalusia.

The family will receive friends on March 4 from 6-8 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bryars passed away on March 1 at Capitol Hill Health Care in Montgomery. She was born on April 4, 1933, in Lucedale, Miss. to John Jefferson Jenkins and Martha Brunette Moody Jenkins.

She loved to sing in her church choir at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Andalusia and had a beautiful alto voice.

She was an ardent Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed many hours watching her favorite player, Chipper Jones.

Anna was a wonderful cook with her specialty being pound cakes.

She was also a talented hairdresser, seamstress, and an employee of J.C. Penney for many years in Andalusia.

She loved to dance and to laugh.

Anna was devoted to her parents, siblings, husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children, John A. Bryars (Yvonne) of Clanton, Linda Bryars Connell of Clanton, Gary G. Bryars (Sandra) of Alexander City, and Teri L. Bryars Short (Jerry) of Montgomery, grandchildren, John G. Bryars (Claudia) of Birmingham, Tara H. Wizorek (Dave) of Prattville, Scott Short of Montgomery, Gavin Short of Charlotte, N.C., Walter Maisel of Seattle, Wash., and Anna Nichole Kelley of Clanton, great-grandchildren, Abigail Bryars, Katherine Bryars, and Ellington Bryars of Birmingham, Carter Wizorek and Rob Wizorek of Prattville, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Jefferson Jenkins and Martha Brunette Moody Jenkins, her husband of 50 years, Walter Farish Bryars, and brothes, A.D. Jenkins, John Jenkins, and sisters, Bonnie Jenkins and Faye Jenkins Tillman.
