The Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center of Chilton County will hold a fundraising golf tournament Sept. 19 at the Clanton Country Club.

Care Net board member Rhett Barbaree said the two-man scramble tournament will feature hole-in-one prizes on each of the par-3s, including a chance to win a new car from Stokes Automotive.

“This is our first golf fundraising event, and we want to make it a memorable one for all those that participate” Barbaree said. “We are in the process of getting door prizes for the golfers, and we’ll also have cash prizes for the first three finishing teams.”

Barbaree explained the importance of the center, which is located in Clanton.

“Care Net and centers like it are on the front lines of defense against the abortion industry in our country,” Barbaree said. “If anyone has seen the Planned Parenthood videos that have recently been released, you will understand how important it is to support what we do.”

The event will be a shotgun start that will begin at 9 a.m. and feature 18 two-man teams.

Barbaree said half of the spots are already filled, but nine golfers from the area are still needed to find a partner and give him a call.

The cost is $90 per player and will include free range balls, mulligans, a power drive and lunch.
