The annual En Fuego Music Festival will be held Aug. 29.

En Fuego is a free one-day music festival featuring several Christian artists including Family Force 5, Trip Lee, OBB, 7eventh Time Down and Humble Tip.

En Fuego will also feature speaker Wade Morris and special guest J.D. “The Iceman” Anderson from “America’s Got Talent.”

En Fuego was birthed from a small retreat in 1996 and has grown into one of the largest Christian music festivals in the Southeast.

While the event is designed for youth groups and students, all Christian music lovers are welcome to attend.

Food and refreshments will be available for purchase on site. Coolers and outside food or drinks are not allowed. The event is free to all participants. Gates will open at 11 a.m., and the event will last into the evening.

“I was blown away that there, in what seemed to be the ‘middle of nowhere,’ Alabama, was a massive crowd of exuberant fans,” drummer with Third Day David Carr said in a release. “What was most exciting is that I knew immediately these were folks who were ready to rock! All of us in Third Day felt the energy and excitement from the crowd, and it made for a very memorable night.”

The meaning of En Fuego in Spanish is “on fire.” The festival’s meaning comes alive with the lighting of the En Fuego bonfire. The bonfire symbolizes the whole event’s purpose: to be on fire for Jesus.

More information including directions to the festival and a complete line-up is available on En Fuego’s website at www.enfuegoinfo.com.

The event is held rain or shine, and attendees are encouraged to take that into consideration as they make their plans.

This will be the 19th year for the event, and organizers are expecting more than 10,000 young people from every background and denomination.

Each year, En Fuego brings some of the hottest bands in Christian music for worship and offers messages from the best student communicators in the country.

The event has seen hundreds of students come to know Christ.
