Samaria Baptist Church

We celebrated the children who attended VBS last week. Camp Discovery was the theme. Our teachers did a wonderful job, and the children’s presentation was an uplifting blessing to us all.

Our children were taught to trust God and have the faith needed to believe in him. If we stand firm with Jesus, then we are delivered. Like blind Bartimaeus, we believe by faith, not by sight.

Our Pastor’s message today was titled, “Giving All That You Have.” The text for this message was 1 Corinthians 1:27-29.

No flesh should glory in his presence. We were taught that giving all we have will be multiplied by God’s hand. Examples of this type of obedience were exhibited by the little boy who gave is basket of lunch when Jesus fed the 5000.

We must hold nothing back if we are to receive the richest blessing and see the ultimate miracle from the Master’s hand. Jesus blessed the generosity of the boy.

Also, Jesus told everyone that the widow who gave all she had gave more than all. She kept nothing for herself, but gave wholeheartedly to God. He knew the generosity of her heart. This lady was blessed all her days and was a true example of giving in faith.

We are taught to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and he will provide all our needs and more. God’s miracles are not practical as far as the world views reality. God used peculiar methods to accomplish his message and his miracles. We are asked to be obedient and he will give us rest. God wants to do a great work in us. He used the willingness of a child’s heart to perform a miracle of great proportion. Let us seek to be as obedient as this.

Stacy Wyatt, April Cleckler and Eli and Jacob Stoneback are celebrating birthdays.

Prayer requests: The W.L. Adams family, Ms. Lucille Johnson’s daughter Judy, our children starting back to school, and our military service members and police officers.

God bless you all, and join us at Samaria for a true blessing as Bro. Shane breaks the bread of life in Jesus Christ.
