Smith said a committee interest meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m. July 14 at the Alabama Power Conference Center.

“We are looking for new committee members to work with us on fighting against cancer,” Smith said. “We’d like to invite anyone who has thought about wanting to get more involved in Relay For Life to come to the interest meeting, bring a friend, find out what is involved in serving on the committee and join us in working together for a cure.

“This will be a great opportunity to learn what the American Cancer Society is able to provide to cancer patients and their families through funds raised by our local Relay for Life event. We encourage anyone with interest to come out to the meeting.”

Relay For Life is the largest cancer support group in the world. It unites 4 million people in 23 countries to celebrate survivorship.
