Editor’s note: Below is a compilation of the statistics and achievements for graduates of Chilton County area schools who now compete at the college level.

Baseball

Cameron Cummings (Chilton County 2013) collected his 24th appearance of the season as an outfielder for the University of South Alabama (24-13) in a 10-3 victory at home against Appalachian State University (11-26) on April 11 in Mobile.

For the season, the sophomore’s totaled 11 runs scored, three RBI, two stolen bases, one double and a .276 batting average.

Chance Calloway (Chilton County 2012) has totaled two appearances as a relief pitcher for the University of West Florida, which improved to 25-14 after sweeping a three-game series at Shorter University (14-18) from April 11-12 in Rome, Ga.

For the season, the junior’s tallied three innings, two strikeouts and a 12 ERA.

Craig Headley (Chilton County 2013) finished 1-for-3 as a catcher for Jefferson Davis Community College (17-23) in a 4-1 loss in Game 1 of a doubleheader at Wallace Community College–Dothan (23-19) on April 11 in Dothan.

In Game 2 of the series, the sophomore followed by batting 1-for-3 in a 5-3 loss.

For the season, the sophomore’s compiled 23 runs scored, 14 RBI, 10 doubles, six stolen bases, two triples, one home run and a .262 batting average.

Alex Campbell (Jemison 2013) fired one strikeout and allowed five earned runs in a 2 1/3-inning effort as the starting pitcher for Wallace Community College–Selma (17-21) in a 5-4 loss at home to Alabama Southern Community College (17-25) on April 11 in Wallace.

For the season, the sophomore’s totaled a 3-4 record, one complete game, 38 innings, 31 strikeouts and a 6.87 ERA through 11 appearances and nine starts.

Blake Teel (Chilton County 2014) collected a win after hurling two strikeouts and allowing three earned runs in a complete-game performance as the pitcher for Marion Military Institute (23-14) in a 14-3 victory at Calhoun Community College (9-18) on April 9 in Tanner.
For the season, the freshman’s tallied a 4-1 record, two complete games, 45 innings, 13 strikeouts and a 2.60 ERA through eight starts.

As a hitter, he’s added five RBI, three runs scored, one double and a .308 batting average.

James Ratliff (Chilton County 2014) has compiled six innings, four strikeouts and a 10.50 ERA through five appearances as a relief pitcher for Marion Military Institute.

Men’s golf

Ivan Truss (Chilton County 2013) captured the No. 5 performance for Samford University at the Greenbrier Collegiate Invitational by tying for 49th with a two-round score of 151 (76-75) en route to leading the Bulldogs to place 10th among the field of 13 teams from April 13-14 in White Sulphur Springs, W.V.

Forrest Knight (Chilton County 2013) has been named Gulf Shore Conference Golfer of the Month, the conference announced on April 2.

To obtain the honor, the sophomore collected medalist honors at two events for the month.

From March 9-10, Knight led the University of North Alabama to clinch 10th among the field of 18 teams at the Southeastern Collegiate Invitational after delivering a first-place finish with a three-round score of 208 (72-67-69) in Valdosta, Ga.

From March 30-April 1, the sophomore followed by securing victory at the Argonaut Invitational with a two-round total of 140 (68-72) en route to leading the Roaring Lions to clinch first among the field of 16 teams in Pensacola, Fla.

Softball

Shelby Lopez (Jemison 2012) finished 1-for-2 from the plate and scored one run as a catcher for the University of Montevallo (21-30) in a 3-1 victory at home against Georgia Regents University (24-10) on April 9 in Montevallo.
For the season, the junior’s tallied 17 runs scored, 10 stolen bases, eight RBI, four doubles, one triple and a .256 batting average.

Brianna Cleckler (Chilton County 2013) hurled three strikeouts and allowed three earned runs in a complete-game effort as the starting pitcher for Southern Union State Community College (40-12) in a 4-2 loss in Game 1 of a doubleheader at home to Calhoun Community College (22-23-2) on April 9 in Wadley.

For the season, the sophomore’s compiled a 23-6 record, 24 complete games, 175 innings, 84 strikeouts and a 2.44 ERA through 29 appearances and 28 starts.

From the plate, she’s added a .333 batting average.

Holly Watts (Chilton County 2014) batted 1-for-4 as an infielder for Southern Union Community College in a 12-8 victory at home against Calhoun Community College in Game 2 of a doubleheader on April 9.

For the season, the freshman’s totaled 11 RBI, six runs scored, four doubles, three home runs and a .333 batting average.

Lauren Stewart (Chilton County 2012) is batting .324 for the season for the Spring Hill College softball team. Stewart has scored 18 runs, while racking up 13 RBI and knocking three home runs.


Women’s outdoor track and field

Lori Davis (Billingsley 2012) captured third in the javelin at the Mississippi/Alabama Border Clash with a launch of 138 feet, 7.75 inches for Alabama State University on April 10 in Starkville, Miss.

The meet was not scored.
