Betty Davis Edwards, 83, of Clanton, died Saturday April 11, at her home.

She was born on Tuesday, September 15, 1931, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Earnest Davis and the late Ruth Wells Davis.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her daughter, Ms. Renee Sample of Jemison; son, Mark (Janet) Edwards of Jemison; granddaughter, Suzanne Sample of Dickson, Tenn.; grandson, Matthew Sample of Mobile; great-granddaughter, Savannah Smith of Dadeville; brothers, Olin (Doris) Davis of Clanton and Lawrence (Peggy) Davis of Clanton; sisters, Mrs. Janice (Jerry) Wright of Clanton and Mrs. Debbie (Steve) Jones of Clanton; sister-in-law, Ms. Lou Davis of Wetumpka; step-daughters, Cherry Neilson of Selma, Sue (Bob) McMasters of Foley and Connie Edwards of Savannah, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Edwards; husband, James Edwards; father and mother, Earnest and Ruth Davis and brother, Ralph Davis.

Friends were received from 5-8 p.m., Monday, April 13, at West End Baptist Church.

Services will be held Tuesday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at West End Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Wilson officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton.
