Lois Adams Locke

Funeral service for Mrs. Lois Adams Locke, 85, of Alexander City, will be April 11 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Radney Funeral Home.

Dr. Joe Turner, the Rev. Bill Stinson and the Rev. Mark Deason will officiate.

Burial will follow in Hillview Memorial Park. The family received friends on April 10 from 5-8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.

Mrs. Locke passed away on Thursday, April 9. She was born on June 5, 1929, in Chilton County to Joseph Hobson Adams and Anne Cordelia Grant Adams.  She was a member of First Baptist Church and loved her church family dearly.

She also loved her family very much, especially her grandson and great-grandson. Mrs. Lois was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sewing, shopping, flower gardening and gospel singings. She was an avid Auburn fan and enjoyed going to the games. Mrs. Lois loved living on Lake Martin and enjoyed boating and fishing. For 43 years she was a devoted employee of Russell Corporation as a Lab Technician. She was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Diane Turner (John) of Alexander City; grandson, John Thomas Turner, Jr. (Tamara) of Alexander City; great-grandson, Braxton Locke Turner of Alexander City; sister, Betty Jones of Clanton; brother, Jay Adams (Shirley) of Riverside; sister-in-law, Hilda Adams of Alexander City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Thomas Crayton Locke; and brothers, James Lee Adams, Carlis Adams and Forrest Adams.
