The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce sponsored a grand opening and ribbon cutting Friday for Peach Automotive, a division of Mark’s Towing and Auto Repair LLC.

The event started at 11 a.m. at Mark’s Towing and Auto Repair, which is located off Highway 31 in Clanton behind KFC.

“We just appreciate everyone coming out today,” said owner Mark Smith. “We thought this would be a good opportunity to let everyone know about our Peach Automotive business, which is located at 1940 Big M Boulevard in Clanton.”

Mark’s Towing and Auto Repair LLC. first opened in December 2010 behind KFC as a way to do automotive repair.

Now, the business is expanding with Peach Automotive. Smith said the business offers brands such as Toro lawnmowers, Ferris lawnmowers, Echo power equipment, Vermeer hay equipment, Mahindra tractors and pre-owned vehicles.

Service work is done for equipment at Mark’s Towing and Auto Repair.

“Basically, whatever you need for your farm or lawn, we have it,” said Sheryl Smith, who is co-owner of the businesses.

The event allowed guests to register to win a free Echo trimmer as well as free food and drinks.

The grand opening was scheduled to continue on April 4 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Peach Automotive Sales Lot at Big M Blvd. in Clanton (across from Waffle House).
