A Clanton man faces multiple charges after being arrested Tuesday for impersonating a police officer.

The Clanton Police Department received a call Tuesday of a male subject arguing with a female subject in the parking lot of the Chevron, located at 405 Lay Dam Road.

When officers arrived on the scene, they determined that a female driver accidentally drifted into the lane of another vehicle that was driven by Anthony Marcus, 31, of Clanton.

Marcus activated red and white emergency lights, that had been installed in his personal vehicle, which was a red pickup truck, and the female driver pulled into the Chevron, according to a release from the CPD.

Marcus approached the vehicle and began yelling at the female driver as she rolled down her window, according to the release.

Marcus struck the window of the vehicle with his fist, causing it to break, the release said.

Detectives with the CPD responded, and Marcus was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer, criminal mischief third degree and harassment.

Marcus is currently in the Chilton County Jail awaiting a bond.
