Autumn Mae Steele

Autumn Mae Steele, 34, of Burlington, Iowa, passed away on Jan. 6 at her home.

Born on February 28, 1980, in Columbus, Ga., she was the daughter of Ronald Dean Waters Sr. and Gina Klinner.

She married Gabriel C. Steele on Sept. 12, 2011, in Columbus, Ga.

Steele’s family grew up near Fort Benning, Georgia, where she loved to play outside and ride four wheelers.

She was an honor student in high school and drum majorette.

She enjoyed listening to music, the night sky, dancing, especially with her children, hiking, garage sales and thrift stores. She also enjoyed helping her mother find bargains and items for her mother’s antique store.

Steele was a dental technician and enjoyed her work very much.

She was very photogenic and enjoyed dressing up for an evening out.

She had a beautiful smile that attracted Gabriel to her, and her inner beauty matched her outer beauty.

She was a devoted wife, mother and sister. She was a family caretaker and lived for her children.

She is survived by her husband, Gabriel; two sons, Gunner Steele and Kai Schoff, both at home; one step-son, Devin Steele at home; one brother, Ronald Waters Jr. of Columbus, Ga.; one sister, Kaci Colbert; her mother, Gina Colbert of Columbus, Ga.; her father, Ronald Waters Sr. of Missouri; her maternal grandmother, Betty Jean Giles Klinner of Clanton; three nephews, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Lt. Colonel Enzo F. Klinner Jr.; paternal grandfather, Alfred Soapy B. Waters; paternal grandmother, Madeline Cora Graves Waters.

Funeral services will be held Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
