Deserving of great honor

Dear editor,

I recently read an article in your paper about Danny Hayes of Hayes Drug in Jemison being voted Mr. Jemison.

I would like to elaborate on the story of why Mr. Danny deserved such a great honor.

Recently, late on a Saturday night, that I had some questions regarding a prescription that I had filled just a day or so before in the pharmacy.

The medication looked different so I called Danny to make sure the generic brand did not change before I started taking the medicine.

Mr. Danny was so concerned he left his home at 10 p.m. and went to the store to check the medication.

He called me at home and discussed the issue with me and then brought me a new bottle of medication to my home at 10:30 p.m. to ensure I had my medicine.

I told him I could have waited until Monday, but he was concerned for my health and brought it to me that night at such a late hour.

This is just one reason why Danny Hayes earned such an honor as being voted Mr. Jemison.

There are not many merchants that would put their customers first during their personal time. Danny Hayes is not just an awesome pharmacist, he is an awesome man of God, and a valued man in the community.

I am proud to know I have a man like him as my friend and pharmacist.
