George Powell Dansby, 78, of Clanton, passed away Dec. 6.

He was born Jan. 31, 1936, in Ancon, Panama Canal, the son of the late John Clifford Dansby and the late Blonnie B. Baxley Dansby.

He was a heavy equipment operator.

Surviving are his wife, Beth Dansby of Clanton; sons, Jonathan (Darlene) Dansby of Jemison, Jeff Dansby of Clanton,; grandson, Austin Dansby of Jemison, and granddaughter, Cassidy Dansby of Jemison.

Friends will be received from 12:30-1:30 p.m, Dec. 10, at Thorsby First Baptist Church.

Services will be held Dec. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at Thorsby First Baptist Church with the Rev. Von McQueen and the Rev. Donald Talley officiating.

Interment will follow in Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
