Sherrie Baker Vanderslice, 46, of Clanton, passed away Oct. 13 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born on June 5, 1968, in Clanton, to Bill Baker and Judy Cleckley Baker.

She was a supervisor for LifeSouth Blood Bank for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Emmett P. Vanderslice of Clanton; daughter, Hailie Vanderslice of Clanton; parents, Bill and Judy Baker of Clanton; step-son, Mitchell (Brittany) Vanderslice of Clanton; step-daughter, Brook Martin of Clanton; step-grandson, Ethan Vanderslice of Clanton; brother, Kenney (Lisa) Baker of Clanton; mother-in-law, Ann Vanderslice of Clanton and host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Special thanks to her great caretaker, Brittney Vanderslice and also the staff of Gentiva Hospice. The family would also like to extend a sincere thanks to the Rev. Randall Mims and the Rev. Ken Daniels for their many visits, their kindness, and also to their church families. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and like a daughter to her mother-in law. She will be truly missed by all. Funeral services will be held on Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. from the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randall Mims and the Rev. Mike Cleckley officiating.

Burial will follow in Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton.

The family will received friends Oct. 13 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
