Although no storm-related damage was reported from Monday’s storms in Chilton County, many residents experienced power outages.

Central Alabama Electric Cooperative communications specialist Tiffany Trueblood said during Monday’s storms 1,235 customers in Chilton County reported power outages.

The company serves 9,869 customers in the Chilton County area so 12.51 percent of the customers were without power after a storm came through at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

As of Tuesday, power had been restored to those customers, Trueblood said.

As of Monday afternoon, there were approximately 650 Alabama Power Company customers without service in the Clanton area, according to Alabama Power spokesman Mike Jordan.

As of 5 p.m. on Monday, Jordan said there were approximately 85 customers without service in Clanton and crews were working to restore service.

On Tuesday all power had been restored, Jordan said.

Jordan said there were approximately 55,000 customers without service statewide on Monday with the vast majority of customers in north and west Alabama.
