Steve Oneal “Sturdy” Cleckler, 47, of Clanton, passed away on Oct. 6 at his residence. He was born in Alabama on Dec. 1, 1966.

He was a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Cleckler of Clanton; daughter, Amber Cleckler of Montevallo; step-daughter, Samantha Harper of Tuscaloosa; step-son, Jacob Barefield of Montevallo; step-son, Jessie Barefield of Montevallo; five grandchildren; mother, Norma Smitherman of Clanton; brothers: Terry Ellison, Ronny Smitherman, Billy Smitherman, and Tony Smitherman all of Clanton.

He is preceded in death by his step-father, Bobby Joe Smitherman.

Funeral services will be held on Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Patterson officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Old Mt. Zion Cemetery in Clanton.
