Editor’s note: Below is a compilation of the statistics and achievements compiled by graduates of Chilton County area schools who now compete at the college level.

Football

Riley Tindol (Autauga Academy 2014) is a 6-foot-5, 275-pound offensive lineman for Vanderbilt University, which improved to 1-2 after recording a 34-31 triumph at home against University of Massachusetts (0-3) on Sept. 13 in Nashville, Tenn.

The freshman is a Billingsley native.

Anthony Johnson (Maplesville 2013) tallies four receptions for 30 yards as a wide receiver for Jacksonville State University, which is 1-1 heading into its next competition at home against University of West Alabama (2-0) on Sept. 20 in Jacksonville.

Spencer Watley (Chilton County 2013) is a 5-foot-10, 258-pound offensive lineman for Jacksonville State University.

Javae Swindle (Jemison 2012) compiled 79 yards on 15 rushing attempts as the starting running back for University of West Alabama (2-0) in a 30-6 triumph at home against Shaw University (0-2) on Sept. 13 in Livingston.

Dating back to the 2013 season, the performance breaks a five-game streak of more than 100 yards rushing by the NCAA Division II All-American second-teamer.

For the season, the junior totals 202 yards and one touchdown on 24 rushing attempts.

Taylor Hughes (Chilton County 2010) had his play limited as the starting quarterback after suffering an injury early in the first quarter for Huntingdon College (1-1) in a 29-12 victory at Birmingham-Southern College (0-2) on Sept. 13 in Montgomery.

Prior to the injury, the senior totaled seven yards by completing 1-of-2 pass attempts.

Sophomore Luke Bailey subbed in for Hughes and tallied 165 yards passing with three total TDs on 17-of-28 attempts.

On Sept. 6, Hughes finished with more than 300 total yards and three TDs in a 49-42 loss at Louisiana College (1-1) in Pineville, La.

In the competition, he finished with 275 yards and two touchdowns on 18-of-27 pass attempts.

On the ground, he added 34 yards and one TD.

On Sept. 20, the Hawks will resume competition at Methodist University (1-1) in Fayetteville, N.C.

Damian Mitchell (Maplesville 2014) is a 5-foot-7, 156-pound wide receiver for Birmingham-Southern College, which will resume competition at home against Stetson University (1-1) on Sept. 20 in Birmingham.

Raequane Jones (Jemison 2014) is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound linebacker for Miles College, which fell to 1-1 after suffering a 26-0 loss at home against University of West Georgia (2-0) on Sept. 13 in Fairfield.

Men’s golf

Ivan Truss (Chilton County 2014) is a freshman for Samford University, which placed 14th at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational among the field of 15 teams from Sept. 7-8 at Guyan Golf and Country Club in Huntington, W.V.

From Sept. 29-30, the Bulldogs will resume competition at the Shoal Creek Invitational in Birmingham.

Forrest Knight (Chilton County 2013) is a sophomore for the University of North Alabama, which opened at the Kiawah Island Invitational on Sept. 15 In Kiawah Island, S.C.

The University of South Carolina hosted the event.

Results were not available at press time.

Volleyball

Amber Wyatt (Isabella 2011) is a middle blocker for University of South Alabama, which had its six-game winning streak halted against the University of Memphis (6-4) at the Maroon Classic on Sept. 13 in Starkville, Miss.

Mississippi State University hosted the tournament.

Overall, the Jaguars tally a 5-5 record heading into its next matchup at University of Louisiana at Lafayette (10-0) on Sept. 17 in Lafayette, La.

Alandra Griffith (Isabella 2014) posted four kills and one dig as a middle hitter for Wallace Community College-Selma (5-4) in a 3-0 sweep at home of Jefferson Davis Community College (2-8) on Sept. 4 in Selma.

For the season, the freshman tallies 15 kills, one dig, one block and one ace.

Keely Powell (Isabella 2014) is a defensive specialist for Wallace Community College-Selma.

Ericka Brascome (Isabella 2014) is a right side hitter for Wallace Community College-Selma.
