Gracie Sansom Pickron, 84, of Maplesville, passed away suddenly on Sept. 12 at her residence.

She was born in Chilton County on March 29, 1930, the daughter of the late George Earnest Sansom Sr. and the late Era Headley Sansom.

She was a former seamstress.

She is survived by sons, Gary Waldrop of Maplesville, David Waldrop of Maplesville and Jimmy Waldrop of Florala; grandchildren Katherine Jenkins of Florala, Kalan Waldrop of Daphne and April Waldrop of Clanton; great-grandchild, Lyam Clark of Clanton; sisters, Dorothy Thomas of Deatsville and Elsie Autrey of Marion.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James O. Waldrop; husband, Bernie Pickron; son, Ricky Waldrop; parents, Ernest and Era Sansom; brother, Ernest Sansom Jr. and sister, Ann Burnett.

Visitation was held Sept. 13 from 5-7 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. from Sardis Baptist Church with the Rev. Lynn Roe officiating.

The body lay in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial followed in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery in Maplesville.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to Ellison Memorial Funeral Home of Clanton.
