Senior Connection will host a free vein screening Sept. 16 at the Clanton Recreation Center.

Shelby Baptist Vein Center will bring a team of several doctors and nurses to conduct the screenings, according to Kim Hess who is the office manager at the Shelby Baptist Vein Center.

Those treated to the screening will have an ultrasound performed on their legs to determine the blood flow throughout the veins.

“If someone is feeling any pain, tingling, aching or swelling in their legs or feet, it would be good for them to come and have everything checked out,” Hess said. “We will be on site to answer any questions and perform the screenings so it is a great opportunity for those who may not be able to travel outside of the county.”

Senior Connection Coordinator Vanessa McKinney said there are roughly 15-20 slots left for individuals interested in a screening.

Anyone wishing to participate should sign up before Sept. 16, McKinney said. Those who sign up will be assigned a time slot.
