John D. “Jack” Allen, age 86, of Thorsby, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27.

Jack was an engineer working primarily with U.S. Steel and working internationally in China and Australia.

He was also a councilman for the city of Thorsby.

His survivors include his wife of 62 years, Audrey Allen; daughter, Kaa Brazier (Ricky); son, Richard Allen (Martha Grace); grandchildren, Elizabeth Brazier, Mollis Cottingham, Kerri McGaughy (Jay); and great-grandchildren, Will and Parker Beer and Micah McGaughy.

A memorial service will be at Charter Funeral Home at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29.
