John Lawrence Davis Jr., 66, of Clanton, passed away August 3.

He was born Jan. 15, 1948, in Birmingham, the son of the late John L. Davis Sr. and the late Elizabeth Varner Davis.

He was a grocery store owner.

He is survived by his wife, Joan H. Davis of Clanton; son, Bill Davis (Ann) of Calera; daughters, Kim Beasley (David) of Calera, Glenda “Sissy” Caffee of Clanton; grandchildren, Olivia Davis and Emily Allen; sister, Linda Davis Muehlberger and a host of family and friends.

Friends will be received from 12-1 p.m. Aug. 6 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Aug. 6 at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Pat McWhorter officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
