Vera Nell Knight, 72, of Billingsley, passed away July 31.

She was born on April 25, 1942, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Carlton Baker and the late Effie Lee Thomas Baker.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Knight of Billingsley; son, Dewey Knight (Lisa) of Marbury; daughters, Betty Jean Knight of Billingsley, Sheila Cleckler (Tim) of Verbena and Genese Pike (Greg) of Verbena; brother, Glenn Baker of Clanton; sisters, Voncile Wyatt of Clanton, Emma Jean Moore of Billingsley and Kathy Farris of Thorsby; grandson, Brad Pike of Verbena; granddaughters, Hope Sansom of Clanton, Ashley Whittle of Marbury, Sabrina Knight of Marbury; great-grandson, Ethan Sansom of Clanton; great-granddaughters, Abby Whittle of Marbury and Ava Whittle of Marbury.

She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Wayne Knight; parents, Carlton and Effie Lee Baker; brothers, Clarence Baker, Buddy Baker and Jimmy Baker and sister, Ruby Powell.

Friends will be received from 12-1 p.m. Aug. 3 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Aug. 3 at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Odell Bryant officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Clanton.
