Heinz R. Benz, Sr., 76, of Birmingham, passed away July 16.

He was born Dec. 31, 1937, in Germany, the son of the late Adam Benz.

He was a salesman.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Benz of Birmingham; sons, Roland (Melissa) Benz of Warrior, James (Leigh) Benz of Clanton; daughter, Melody Veazey of Birmingham and six grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 18, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 19, at 11 a.m. at Forest Crest Cemetery, Birmingham with the Rev. Jim Shannon officiating.
