Bethsalem Baptist Church

God is so good. We had a great day on Sunday. Bro. Cleve gave ministry opportunities and welcomed everyone.

The Celebration Choir sang “The Cross.” Bro. Justin’s message was about forgiveness and came from Luke 19:1-10. Genuinely repent and request forgiveness.

The evening message was great. It was followed by a fellowship in honor of Mrs. Shirley Smith’s 70th birthday thanking her for her devotion in serving our church.

Remember to pray for our students as they are in Nashville, Diane Moore, Roxanna Dy, Chester Sparks, Pete Burnett, Eric Shrader, Wayne Smith, Jim Ludwig, Lillian and Lola Thompson, Stephanie Hinton, Charles Bryant, Paul Price, Rebecca Martin, Wanda Smith, Marla Parton, Mark Walker, Sid Griner, Bob and Bethany Hollis, Lynetta Bolden, Jessie Phillips, Debbie Powel, our homebound, those facing cancer, those in nursing homes and assisted living.

Happy Birthday this week to Tyler Harmon, Susie Chavez, James Gleen, Brittan Stange, Ahabeth Polk, and Shirley Smith.

Come worship with us on Sunday. God is so good!

Bethany Baptist Church

We opened service with the hymn “Sweet, Sweet Spirit.” We had no devotion this morning, so were dismissed to Sunday school. Following we sang “America the Beautiful,” “My Country ‘tis of Thee,” “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “The Star Spangled Banner.” Bro. Aubry brought the morning message, not in the series, “Can God.” Although we know God can, God will and God did. Our country was established on the principles of God and to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. God had a hand in raising up our country.

The text, Psalm 100, is a psalm of praise and thanksgiving. In verses 3 and 5 there are some things for which we should be thankful. The Lord is God. Even though many worship people or things other than the one true God, there is only one God. We as Americans have the freedom to worship whatever, whomever or nothing if we want, but God is the only true God.

Jesus Christ isn’t dead; his bones will never be found. God was and he is. He never changes. Whoever is in charge in our countries, God is still in control over everyone and everything. He is our creator. He made us, not we ourselves. Our obligations are to our families, our country, and so on up the ladder to our country. Every citizen should be concerned for our officials and governments.

Psalm 139 tells us how we are made: fearfully and wonderfully. We are his people. God’s children are God’s people today, as was Israel in the Old Testament. John 3:3 tells us we cannot be a child of God unless we are born again, that is we must accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Jesus is our shepherd. God is a triune God: God the Father, God the Son Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit. Shepherds take care of their sheep. If we are God’s children, we hear his voice. Psalm 23 tells how our shepherd is always with us. God is good; it doesn’t matter what happens in our life, he is good to us. 1 Corinthians 5:8 shows that even after death, God takes care of us as saved people. We are in God’s presence throughout eternity. God’s truth endures throughout all generations. Confess to God that you are a sinner and ask him to save you.

After a prayer and a hymn, we went into the fellowship for our fifth Sunday fellowship meal. There was no evening service.
