Mt. Carmel No. 1

Memorial Day is a time to remember those who died in military combat, of disease or by accident. The physical and emotional pain in overwhelming.

Bro. Ricky Cofer and an Eagle Scout troop presented the colors, along with the pledge to the American and Christian flags. Thank you to Bro. Ricky, Austin Liveoak and Trevor Cofer. All who enjoy the blessings of America is indebted to those who serve.

Our service our veterans, missionaries, and all related Christian service. We honor our veterans and give memorial to those who gave their lives. We ask you to remember in your prayers Bro. Roger and Nadine Vines and also Natalie Littleton, who leaves June 10 on a mission trip to Africa.

Bro. Derrell’s message was taken from Deuteronomy 28:1-6 and Malachi 3:10. His sermon title was “Blessings from the Storehouse.” Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in and when thou goest out.

Jesus took a basket of bread and fish, then blessed it and fed 5000 people. Joseph was sold into slavery. There were seven years of plenty and seven years of famine. God has given us a time to be ready and to be drawn nearer to him.

God is still in control. Let us give God the glory.

“How’s Your Offering” from Proverbs 15:8-9 was the title of our Sunday night sermon. In the house of the righteous is much treasure, but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble. Give God the praise and thanks for all things.

Our Wednesday Bible study will be from the book of Ephesians.

Remember the benefit for Jacob Jones on June 7 with the Rev. Robert Griffin and the group Justified.

A VBS kick-off will be held on June 14 at 5 p.m. and VBS will be held June 22-27 from 6 until 8:30 p.m. each evening. Please add this to your prayer list. Prayer warriors are asked to pray each day at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Please band with us in these daily prayers.

Grass cutting and yard work will be done at the church on Saturday, May 31 at 7 a.m.

A bridal shower for Robin Parker, the bride-elect of Chad Foshee, will be given on June 14 from 2 until 3:30 p.m.

Remember to pray for us and our church family and we will be praying for you. You are always welcome to come and worship with us at Mount Carmel.
