Mountain Springs Church

Services started with Bro. Kenneth Moates leading the church in the following hymns: “Joy Unspeakable,” “Oh, How I Love Jesus,” “When the Saints Go Marching In” and “I’ll Fly Away.”

Bro. Ashley Bice gave a devotion from Romans 6:23. We have to acknowledge and accept God’s gift of salvation.

After Sunday school, Bro. Kenneth led the church in the hymn “I Want to Be Ready to Meet Him” and Sheri Moates sang “I Need You More Today.”

Bro. Heath Vines preached from Exodus 13:3. We need to be thankful and remember the men and women who have fought for our freedom. We also need to be thankful and remember what God has done for our freedom as Christians.

Sunday night we held our end-of the-month singing and we all had a wonderful time in the Lord.

VBS will be June 2-6, from 6-8:30 p.m. each night. Our theme this year is “Weird Animals.” We hope you and your family can attend. If you need more information, please call 205-389-4439.

Calvary Independent Baptist Church

We want to say a special thank you and stand in recognition and honor of all the brave men and women who have served in our military to fight for the freedoms we have here in America. We pay a special tribute to the ones who gave their lives in battle and never made it back home to their families. We also offer up our prayers for the families of these brave men and women who have suffered such a great loss. We live in a nation that has truly experienced the blessings of God for many years. We have enjoyed the freedoms to worship and to serve the Lord Jesus Christ openly and publicly because of those willing to defend our freedoms here in America. For all these things we humbly but publicly say thank you to all who serve and have served in our military throughout the history of America.

Sunday morning services at Calvary included a message from Joshua 4:1-9 titled “The Memorials We Have.”

Sunday night services included a song service, a message titled “The Memorials Worth Keeping,” a business meeting and a fellowship meal downstairs in celebration of birthdays and anniversaries for this month.

We pray that you are using your freedom here in America in a way that is pleasing unto God. If you are considering visiting a church this Sunday, we would love for you to come and visit with us at Calvary. VBS will be held June 8-13 and there will be an adult class each night as well as the children’s classes.
