Mt. Carmel No. 1

To those of you who missed Saturday night’s benefit revival for Jacob Jones, you truly missed a blessed. God was in our midst as Bro Robert Griffin brought our message. The group Justified sang out praise and love for the Lord Jesus. The additional speaker was Jereme Wilroy, former player for the University of Alabama’s wheelchair basketball team. Everyone was truly blessed to hear and be a part of this service. Our hearts were touched by the testimony of Jacob’s mother Erica Jones as she told of the life of little Jacob and all the doctors and nurses in his life. Please remember to pray for him and his family as pray each day.

Bro. Derrell Jones’ message was titled “When Dreams Seem Shattered.” We gather in God’s house to be lifted up and encouraged. Zecharial had a long-range vision. He pictured not only the completion of the temple, but also a time to come when the kingdom would be restored. Whereas it was in thine heart to build a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel, What motivates you? Some of us are motivated by friends, our spouse or by Jesus Christ through our Bible study and daily prayers. Love is the most potent mover and shaker in our lives.

Sunday night, we enjoyed our congregational singing as well as the music by Holly Smith, who sang “How Great Thou Art.” People cannot keep from joining in the singing of this great song.

Our message for the night was titled “Paul’s Three Crucifixions” from Galatians 6:14-16. We should be like Paul and glory only in our Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation did not cost us anything; it came through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. God forbid that we glory in worldly things. We let the worldly things take our eye off of Jesus and we forge to stand in the freedom of Christ. Come and worship with us and receive God’s blessings.

VBS begins on June 22 and be held from 6-8:30 p.m. each night. There will be classes for all ages, including adult classes. Please pray for our teachers, leaders and all the children who will be attending. A VBS kick-off will be held on June 14 at 5 p.m. You are invited.

Prayer warriors, remember our church prayer walk this Thursday, June 12 at 4:30 p.m. Come band with us as we pray for each other and our church.

You are invited to the bridal shower of Robin Parker, bride of Chad Foshee, on June 14 from 2-3:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church.

Join us as we pray for the names on our prayer list, the lost, our leader, churches and our nation.

Remember Natalie Littleton and the team of nurses leaving this week for a mission rip to Tanzania, Africa.
