Ronald William Mims

Ronald William Mims, 55, of Clanton, passed away on May 7 at his residence.

He was born in Chilton County on March 25, 1959, the son of the late Alvin Mims and the late Crenie Bell Wilson Mims.

He was a mechanic.

He is survived by his long time friend and companion, Donald Gautney of Crestview, Fla.; daughters, Leona Kotke (Fred Jr.) of Verbena, Christy Foley of Clanton, Rebeka Bosworth (Lynzy) of Marbury; son, Ronald W. “BamBam” Mims II of Clanton; brothers, Bobby Mims, Roger Mims and Larry Mims; sister, Alta Sue Dube; eight grandchildren and mother of his children, Cathy Mims of Maplesville.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Crenie Bell Mims; brothers, Charles Mims, Theorone Mims and Johnny Mims; daughters, Rachel and Regina Mims and a granddaughter, Alexis Minor.

Funeral services will be held May 12 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Oscar Mims Jr. officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Nebo Methodist Cemetery in Clanton.
