Cedar Grove Church

God is not dead!

Today our service consisted of a series of dramas reenacting Jesus’ torture on the way to Calvary’s hill. The sacrifice he made for each and every one of us by being placed on an old rugged cross to be crucified. Dying for the sins of the world, he took our place. The dramatization was performed with reverence, yet showing with great impact the harsh reality of what Satan can and does try to do to keep us from serving God. He and his minions thought they had won the victory when Jesus died on the cross but how wrong they were. Jesus arose!

Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ (Easter Sunday). Every day is a great day to praise our Lord and Savior. Today though was the third day after his crucifixion on the cross of Calvary, the day he told us he would arise from the dead. Today Jesus overcame death, hell and the grave that we might have life everlasting. Hallelujah! Glory to God!

We had communion. Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them saying, “This is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” Likewise he also took the cup after supper saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood which is shed for you.”

There are those who refuse to accept Christ as being the true Messiah, and one day soon, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess Jesus is Lord of lords, and King of kings.

Prayer concerns: Renee Cleckley, Jean Varden, Kim Crowe, Michael Crowe and family, Chandler Moon, Patricia Cofer, Stony and Debbie Barbee, Mary McGuire, Nanett Fricke and family, those in the hospitals and nursing homes, spoken and unspoken requests.

Love to all and have a blessed week. Come join us in serving the one true Savior at Cedar Grove!

Mountain Springs Church

We had a wonderful Easter sunrise service this morning, with Bro. Wayne Hughes bringing the message. Bro. Hughes preached from 1 Corinthians 15:12-22. Jesus proved he is the Son of God by his incarnation, association, crucifixion and resurrection. We know he will be coming back for us soon! We want to thank Bro. Hughes for coming by and we thank all of the men for cooking an amazing breakfast for us.

Our morning service started with Bro. Kenneth Moates leading the church in the following hymns: “Victory in Jesus,” “He Lives,” “Jesus is Coming Soon” and “Getting Ready to Leave this World.”

Bro. Roger Cleckler gave a devotion from Luke 23: 50-56. If you’re facing hard times, always do the right thing and keep trusting Jesus. Keep trusting God, and Jesus will bless you in your life.

Bro Heath Vines preached from Luke 24. God will let you see him spiritually if you only trust and believe in him. We haven’t seen Christ with our physical eyes, but as long as we believe on him, we will be blessed.

The choir did a fantastic job relaying the message of what Easter is truly about with a song titled “This Blood.” Souls were saved, hearts were renewed and lives were touched with the wonderful services we had today. Thank you, Lord, for your love and mercy you show for us each and every day.

We are very excited to announce that Mike and Kelly Bowling will be singing at our church on Saturday, May 3 at 7 p.m. We hope you and your family can attend!
