Donald Earl Nelson, 85, of Clanton, passed away on April 17 at his residence.

He was born in Sylacauga on April 4, 1929, the son of the late James Frank Nelson and the late Minnie Lee Taylor Nelson.

He was a retired electrician.

He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Headley (Roger) of Clanton; daughter, Nancy Langston (Joe) of Clanton; daughter, Sharon Edwards of Albany, Ga.; daughter, Donna Driver of Clanton; his twin sister, Dorothy Howell of Lyn Haven, Fla.; sister, Trudy Dykes of Cleveland, Ohio and sister, Betty Gray of Montgomery.

Visitation will be held April 20 from 5-7 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held April 21 at noon from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Martha Headley officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow at 2 p.m. in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to Gentiva Hospice of Clanton.
