Lawana K. Martin, 66, of Clanton, passed away on April 14.

She was born on June 11, 1947, the daughter of the late Hubert Carpenter and the late Flora Powell Carpenter.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her sister, Karol Collier (Terry) of Clanton; brother, Ken Carpenter (Debbie) of Adamsville; brother, Bruce Carpenter (Tammy) of Birmingport; sister, Debbie Bradberry (Ed) of Tallahassee, Fla.; 10 nieces and nephews; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; two great-great-nieces and a host of other relatives, friends and the loving staff of Hatley Health Care.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Flora P. Carpenter.

Funeral services were held April 15 at 11 a.m. from the memorial chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Daniels officiating.

The family received friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial followed in the Verbena Community Cemetery.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home of Clanton.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made in her honor to the Activities Department of Hatley Health Care or Southern Care Hospice.
