This year’s show includes cash prizes to be awarded as follows: first prize, $150; second prize, $75; third prize, $50; and honorable mention, $25.

In addition, all entries will be displayed in the Rose Gallery at the Chilton County Arts Council office throughout the month of May.

All types of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art are eligible for judging, including oil painting, acrylic painting, mixed media painting, drawing, pastels, photography, ceramics, sculpture, 2D mixed media, watercolors, printmaking, 3D mixed media and digital art.

Entry deadline is 5 p.m. on April 26.

“We are very fortunate to have as our juror Dr. Carolyn McDonald,” Arts Council President Mary Schiermann said. “She is a former adjunct professor at UAB, the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and at the University of Montevallo. For the past several years, she has taught art at Homewood High School, working with advanced placement students. Her expertise is vital to the integrity of this event.”

A reception for all entrants will be held from 2-4 p.m. May 4 at the Arts Council office and gallery, 703 Second Ave. N. in downtown Clanton. Winners will be announced at the reception.
