No injuries were reported after a woman accidentally drove her car into the Regions Bank in Jemison on Tuesday.

“It was minor in the grand scheme of things, but it was pretty significant for everyone inside the bank this morning,” Jemison Branch Manager for Regions Rex Bittle said. “Thankfully no one was hurt, and there weren’t a lot of people inside the bank at the time.”

Jemison Police Chief Shane Fulmer said the Jemison Police Department responded to the bank at 11 a.m. of a report that a female had driven her car into the front portion of the bank.

“The woman was pulling into the front parking space at the bank and hit the gas pedal instead of the break,” Fulmer said. “She hit a parked car and it did some damage to the front of the bank, but no one was injured.”

Bittle said the brick wall and the window casing were being repaired Tuesday afternoon and noted the glass in the window did not break from the impact of the car.

“I guess the glass in the front of this building is pretty strong,” Bittle said. “We are just thankful no one was hurt.”
