Spring prayer walk to be held April 6

The Chilton Baptist Association will hold a spring prayer walk at Chilton County Schools April 6.

“We will be praying for the safety of all students, teachers, staff and each home represented,” coordinator Bobbie Traywick said. “We pray that all parents will be cooperative with the teachers and staff. We pray that each student will respect their teachers and their fellow students, resisting in bullying of other students.”

The CBA has sponsored the prayer walk at local schools for more than 15 years as a way for community members to show support of students, their families and staff members.

“We also thank our prayer walk coordinators who organize each school’s prayer walk,” Traywick said. “We encourage everyone to participate in praying for our students. We believe that money can do what money can do, but prayer can do what God can do.”

Everyone is invited to go to any or all of the schools and pray at the designated times during the prayer walk.

The following is a schedule for the walk April 6:

•Clanton Elementary School, 6:15 p.m.

•Clanton Intermediate School, 6:15 p.m.

•Clanton Middle School, 7 p.m.

•Chilton County High School, youth at 5 p.m. and adults after the evening service at Clanton First Baptist Church.

•Isabella High School, after evening services at Mulberry Baptist.

•Jemison Elementary School, 4 p.m.

•Jemison High and Jemison Middle schools, time to be announced.

•Maplesville schools, 6 p.m.

•Thorsby School, 12:30 p.m. after morning service at Collins Chapel.

•Verbena schools, after evening service at Verbena Baptist Church.

The prayer walk will extend to May 4 for LeCroy Career Technical Center during evening services at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

The annual spring prayer walk has taken place since 2004, and a fall prayer walk was later added to provide two walks each year.

The spring walk is held the first Sunday in April unless Easter is the same day, and the fall walk is normally held the first Sunday in August.
