Three incidents along Interstate 65 in Chilton County on Friday caused some delays throughout the day for motorists.
The first incident involved a two-vehicle crash at 11:20 a.m. on I-65 near the 216-mile-marker.
Alabama Department of Public Safety Information/Education Unit spokesman Sgt. Steve Jarrett said a vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a parked Alabama State Trooper car that was in the median providing traffic control for a motorist who was stuck in the median.
No injuries were reported, and Jarrett said only minor damage was reported to the Trooper’s vehicle.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.
The second wreck was a two-vehicle crash at 12:45 p.m. on I-65 southbound at the 201-mile-marker.
Jarrett said both vehicles pulled off the roadway into the emergency lane, but he did not have details of the crash available on Monday.
Authorities did not release the names of the individuals involved in the crash.
Shortly after 5 p.m. on I-65 northbound near the 217-mile marker, a vehicle caught on fire and pulled over in the emergency lane.
Union Grove Fire Department was dispatched on the call and worked the scene.
No injuries were reported, but initial reports of the fire from the dispatch unit said the vehicle was fully involved.
The fire caused delays on the interstate.
Authorities are continuing an investigation as to how the vehicle caught on fire.
