Rebels fall to Marbury, top Jemison in tournament

Thorsby’s baseball team on Thursday lost its first game of the season—but not before the Rebels ran their record to 13-0 with a win Tuesday over Isabella.

In an 11-0 victory over the Mustangs, Thorsby scored five runs in the first inning, including three on senior Cody Scott’s first home run of his varsity career, and the lead was never threatened.

Blake Bradberry, Dylan Carroll and Donnie Hoffman combined to allow one hit in five innings pitched while striking out eight Isabella batters.

Conner McRae went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored. Chris Brown scored three runs and drove in two. Tyler Owens went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in the second inning and three RBI.

Thorsby fell to Marbury, 13-5, on Thursday in a tournament at Prattville Christian.

The Rebels surrendered three runs in the first inning but kept the game close until Marbury plated six runs in the fourth inning.

Scott and Carroll shared pitching duties for THS in the game.

McRae went 2-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI.

The Rebels (14-1) bounced back to take an 8-1 win over Jemison in the tournament.

Braden McRae struck out 11 of the 28 Jemison batters he faced while allowing one unearned run on one hit and four walks.

Conner McRae went 3-for-3 at the plate with one run scored and two RBI. Matt Morgan went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Owens scored two runs.

THS pounded out 11 hits but left 12 runners on base.
