Red Devils drop three during Invitational Tournament

Verbena’s softball team lost three games during its Invitational Tournament on March 7 and 8.
The Red Devils fell to Dallas County, 14-2, Coosa Central, 12-0 and Coose Central again, 10-1.
In the first game of the tournament, Dallas County pounded out 17 hits to Verbena’s one.
DCHS scored three runs in the first inning and six in the second inning, and never looked back.
Verbena scored both of its runs in the first inning, as the first two batters in the order–Candice Williams and Katelyn Green–drew walks and came around to score on Karoline Moore’s double.
