Calvary Independent Baptist Church

We want to thank everyone who attended services this weekend.

Sunday morning services included a message from John 14 titled “Encouragement for the Journey.” We all need encouragement when discouraging circumstances come our way. We can find comfort in God’s word and rest assured in his promises. These eleven disciples, before the cross, had just encountered the defection of Judas, the news of the soon departure of Jesus, and even the despair of Peter. Here in John 14, Jesus is giving the disciples encouraging words to help them develop greater potential in serving God.

Anyone saved today has access to the power of the Father through the provision of the Son and has peace through the Comforter that will never leave nor forsake them. We all need to look for comfort in the word of God to help us keep reaching for greater potential in our lives to do the work we are called to do as members of the body of Christ today.

At the conclusion of the morning services, we had a baptismal service and we ask everyone to be in prayer as God continues to save souls and change lives as only he can do.

Sunday night’s services included a song service followed by a short message from Matthew 11:28-30 titled “Laborers with Benefits.” When we are yoked with Christ, his burden is light. We can get caught up in the work and our burdens and lose focus on who we are working with and for. When we do that we become burned out from trying to do a work that God has never called us to do. If he calls us to do it, he will enable us to the point that it will no longer be us doing the work, but rather Christ doing the work through us.

After the services upstairs we adjourned downstairs for a fellowship meal in celebrating this month’s birthdays and anniversaries. We would like to invite you to be a part of our services this coming Sunday.

Mountain Springs Church

Services started on Sunday with Bro. Kenneth Moates leading the church in the following hymns: “I Want to Be Ready to Meet Him,” “I’m Getting Ready to Leave this World,” “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow” and “Keep On the Firing Line.”

Bro. Roger Cleckler gave a devotion from Job 1: 15-22. Job lost everything he had but still praised God with all of his heart. Whenever we feel like we’ve lost it all we need to be like Job and still praise God for everything he does for us.

After Sunday school, Bro. Kenneth led the church in the hymn “Won’t It Be Wonderful There” and Sheri Moates sang “For the Life of Me.”

Bro. Don preached from Ephesians 1:7. God will redeem our soul, body, life and mind. God has a purpose for each of us and his grace will never run out!

Sunday night was our end-of-the-month singing. Many people sang and blessed the church.

Hope to see you at service!
