Robert Samuel “Sammy” Rhodes, 85, of Jemison, passed away on Feb. 14 at his residence.

He was born in Chilton County on Sept. 17, 1928, the son of the late Jesse James Rhodes and the late Lula Mae Payton Rhodes.

He was a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Rhodes of Jemison; daughter, Brenda Manley (Don) of White House, Tenn., daughter, Vickie Edwards (Doe) of Jemison; son, Terry Rhodes (Annette) of Clanton; son, Jason Rhodes of Jemison; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a brother, Wilton Rhodes of Sacramento, Calif.

He is preceded in death by his son, Larry Wayne Rhodes.

Visitation will be held on Feb. 16 from 4-6 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. William Earl Short officiating.

Burial will follow in the Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison.
