Chilton County schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 31, due to dangerous road conditions, Chilton County Schools Superintendent Dave Hayden announced Thursday evening.

Chilton Christian Academy will be closed Friday as well.

Jefferson State Community College will not hold classes Friday. All campuses, including Chilton-Clanton Campus, will be closed.

Hayden said the decision was based on a number of wrecks that had happened in the county Thursday, and road conditions would not be safe for school buses and vehicles to travel.
