A hard freeze warning is in effect for Chilton County for the day on Wednesday and Thursday morning.

The NWS asks residents to cover or insulate exposed pipes, bring in or provide shelter for pets and livestock, cover or bring inside sensitive vegetation and check on elderly or those without sufficient heat.

Freezing temperatures pose a threat to exposed pipes that might freeze or outdoor pets such as livestock.

Thursday’s high should reach around 40 degrees with sunshine and lows around 30 degrees.

Weekend temperatures should warm up to 60 degrees with a 20 percent chance of showers expected on Friday and Saturday.
