All Chilton County roads and bridges closed

All Chilton County roads were closed because of dangerous travel conditions on Tuesday.
Chilton County Engineer Tony Wearren announced at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday that all county roads and bridges are closed.
“We started sanding bridges at 9:30 a.m. trying to beat the schools,” Wearren said. “We have run out of sand and we are going to get more to try to sand this evening.”
Wearren said his crew would try to sand the roads a second time before Tuesday evening.
“We are just asking people to be careful,” Wearren said.
Dan Wright with Chilton County E-911 said his office had taken 43 calls of wrecks throughout the county from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
