Cedar Grove Church

The great I Am still is!

Announcements: Prayer meeting on Friday night starts at 7 p.m.

Prayer concerns: Shane, Hannah, and Blair, Sandra Gothard, Bro. Billy, Mary McGuire and family, Linda Sullivan, Peggy Pearson, Judy, those in the hospitals and nursing homes, spoken and unspoken requests, Wendell and Charlotte Ray and the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines. Let us all give God thanks in advance.

Pastor Bro. Jeff Carroll’s text came from Acts 26 and was titled “Being Almost a Christian.” Close only counts when you are playing horseshoes. When the dispensation of grace passes, those who are “almost” Christian will be left behind.

What is being “almost” Christian? You can be born in a Christian nation, but not be a Christian; you can be brought up in a Christian home, but not be a Christian; you can go to a Christian school, but not be a Christian; and you can have a funeral preached over you with great words, but not be a Christian. You must believe in your heart Jesus died and rose again, saved your soul, love Jesus and proclaim Jesus as God. To almost be a Christian is to see your need, but not claim it through a humble heart; to wish to be saved, yet be undecided; at the door of heaven, but still outside.

It is not about what other people say or do. Jesus stands at the door and knocks; will you let him in? Today is the day of salvation. Claim your eternity in Christ without delay.

Love to all. Have a blessed week. Come join us at Cedar Grove for true gospel preaching and teaching.

There is power in the name of Jesus!
