Jemison man killed in Sunday morning wreck

A single-vehicle crash Sunday claimed the life of a Jemison man.

Jerry Davis Jr., 34, was killed when the 1998 Pontiac Firebird he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree, according to a press release from Alabama State Troopers.

The crash occurred at 4:45 a.m. on Chilton County Road 28, two miles east of Clanton.

Preliminary investigation indicated alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the release.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
