Melba Jean Adams

Melba Jean Adams, 72, of Verbena, passed away Nov. 20.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1941, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Horace Cleckler and the late Myrtle Mims Cleckler.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her daughter, Becky Pate of Clanton; sons, David Pate (Sandra) of Maplesville; Russell Carroll (Lilly) of Clanton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Cleckler of Clanton; sisters, Myra Davis of Clanton and Ester Jones of Clanton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Myrtle Cleckler and son, Timothy Carroll.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Nov. 22 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. at Jackson Chapel Church with the Rev. Dennis Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Jackson Chapel Cemetery in Clanton.
