Mildred Pauline Giles

Mildred Pauline Giles passed away at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 2 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge at the age of 87.

She was born in Oliver Springs, Tenn., and a resident of Baton Rouge, La.

Giles was a long-time resident of Birmingham and Clanton retiring from Edwards Chevrolet in Birmingham.

Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton on Oct. 12 from 10-11 a.m. with a memorial service to follow.

Following the service, a private burial will be at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Mineral Springs.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and David Harris; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Kathy and Wade and Denise Giles; sister, Mary Phillips; grandchildren, Melissa Giles, Kelley Harries, Matt Giles, Laura Filasek, Joey Giles, David Giles Jr., Robin Giles, Sally Franco, Ben Harris, Chase and Lee Payne; 18-great-granchildren; daughter-in-law, Glynda Morgan.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Giles Jr., son, David Giles Sr., grandson, Mark Giles; parents, Sam and Maggie Trail; sister, Trudy Francois; brothers, Harvey, J.C. and Jimmy Trail.

She was a member of the Baker, LA Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the many friends that provided prayers and support with special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Carpenter House.
