Hilda Diane Laney, 74, of Montevallo, passed away on Sept. 19 at Columbiana Health and Rehab in Columbiana.

She was born in Phoenix City on Dec. 11, 1938, the daughter of the late Robert Lee Gibson and the late Irma Kate Underwood Gibson.

She was a salesperson.

She is survived by her husband, Roy William Laney Sr. of Montevallo; daughter, Cristie Muehlbauer (Gary) of Montevallo; daughter, Kathryn Robin Brackin of Mobile; grandchildren, Rickey Dale Pennington, Lee McGaughy, Stephanie Mims and Randi Lucas; step-children, Sonny Laney, Amy Blum, Julie Edgin and Russell Laney; several great-grandchildren and brother, Robert F. Gibson of Macon, Ga.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Sept. 20 at 9:30 a.m. from the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo with the Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.

The family requests no flowers but that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
