Benny Gamble Peters

Benny Gamble Peters, 81, of Birmingham, passed away on Sept. 18 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.

She was born on Feb. 4, 1932, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Turner Gamble and the late Ethel Thompson Gamble.

She was a clerk.

Surviving are her sister, Pat Gamble Ammons of Hoover; brother, John Gamble (Karen) of Alabaster; nephew, Stan Ammons of Pleasant Grove; nieces, Suzie Ammons of Houghton of Cleveland, Ga.; Sally Ammons Doak of Hoover; stepchildren, Helen Marie Rewland, Texas, Doris Coker of Hoover, Elaine Monroe of Birmingham, Ernie Peters of Jemison; and a host of nieces and nephews and family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Peters; and stepson, David Peters.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m. Sept. 20 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

Services will be held Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Rothe officiating.

Interment will follow in Mineral Springs Cemetery.
