Mustangs reach milestone win

Isabella’s volleyball program won its 400th match under coach Glen Graham on Thursday.

The milestone was reached with a 2-0 (25-7, 25-19) victory over Billingsley.

The Mustangs defeated Shelby County, 2-0 (25-19, 25-20) earlier in the tri-match.

Graham said the occasion was made even more special by several former players attending the matches, including Jessica Maciel and Miranda Magnus, who helped call lines.

“You think about other players who have helped you get you there and other coaches,” Graham said. “It’s always neat seeing the tradition.”

The Mustangs are 11-4 on the season and ranked No. 6 in Class 2A.

Against SCHS, Sarah Graham had five kills. Landy Griffith posted three kills, three aces and four digs; and Kacie Adams had one kill to go along with seven assists and two aces.

Against Billingsley, Unique Robinson recorded seven kills, one block and one ace. Erika Brascome had four kills, one block and three aces; and Adams had two kills, eight assists and one ace.
